On 7th April 2025, MTU launches its Sustainability Strategy 2025–2035 – university-wide commitment to embedding sustainability across every aspect of campus life.
Through this Sustainability Strategy, MTU is taking concrete steps to ensure that sustainability becomes a defining feature of how we teach, research, engage, and operate. From capacity-building programmes for staff to the integration of sustainability into academic curricula and research initiatives, the strategy lays the foundation for meaningful and systemic change across the University.
The Sustainability Strategy and the UN’s sustainable development goals are strategic enablers in MTU’s Strategic Plan, Our Shared Vision. The Sustainability Strategy sets out a university-wide roadmap to integrate sustainability in all areas of university life at MTU and reflects the University’s vision to become a Living Lab for sustainability that will enable students, staff, and regional partners to work together in developing practical and innovative solutions to global and local sustainability challenges. The Sustainability Strategy is grounded in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), which were adopted by UN Member States in 2015 to promote a more sustainable, just, and inclusive world.
To celebrate the launch of the strategy we are holding sustainability events across all campuses from the 7th to the 11th of April.
